Before the coffee brews, before the to-do list takes over, there’s a sacred moment waiting for us, a chance to speak with God, not just recite words, but to notice His presence in our life. This varies for each of us but I share what it looks like for me.
“Lord, thank You for waking me up.”
It’s more than a polite nod, it’s a recognition that this day, this breath, is a gift. Even if the sky is cloudy or our hearts feel heavy, we can still say, “This is the day You made, and I’m here for it.”
“God, order my steps today.”
We don’t always know what’s ahead. But we can ask for guidance, not just for big decisions, but for the small ones too. Where we go, how we speak, what we notice. Sometimes God’s leading feels like a nudge, a pause, a moment of clarity.
“God, cover me and my family.”
This prayer is tender. It’s about trust. Not just safety, but spiritual shelter. We’re asking to be held, to be watched over, to know that even in chaos, we’re not alone.
“Lord, let Your will be done in my life today.”
This one’s hard. It’s surrender. It means letting go of control and opening our hands to grace. It’s saying, “Even if today doesn’t go how I planned, I trust You’re in it.”
These prayers aren’t just morning rituals, they’re invitations to live with God, to see Him in our experience. In the laughter of our children, the ache of longing, the beauty of a sunrise, the quiet of solitude.
God is not far off. He’s in the depth of everything that exists. In us. Around us. Through us. And when we begin our day with Him, we begin to see, really see, that our life is already steeped in the sacred.
