Are You Living Dead or Alive?

Recently I have noticed being stuck in a rut.  As much as I love the comfort of a routine, I am realizing that this can create a deadness in me. So, I have decided to switch it up.  When I say my daily rosary, rather than praying with community, I walk in silence observing nature.  I am throwing some Pilates in with my yoga practice.  I am re-committed to tracking what I eat.  And I am actively calling the Holy Spirit to be with me throughout my day.  These small, intentional changes help me live more fully alive, feeling inspired rather than in the deadness of a rut.  Next step will be to add some creative spice.  My needlepoint is calling me again.  It is a two-fer – I can enjoy nightly Netflix with my husband, and I can keep my fingers busy and the snacking at bay!

In the past decade alone, this group has grown 40%.  All the while, the quest for spirituality and the practice of mindfulness to find inner peace is off the charts.

Good Friday Lord’s Passion: Action Speaks Louder than Words

So much of my life I was caught up in what people would say instead of basing reality on their behaviors.  This likely stems from having significant relationships in my life who were emotionally unavailable to me in my formative years.  This destructive coping mechanism led me into a lot of wishful thinking and living in the hopeful future.  After suffering the consequences of a failed marriage and another long-term dating relationship, I was able to see how this habit was not serving me well and was able to change my mindset to ensure that actions must match words.
