John 16:29–33 gives us a strikingly honest moment. Jesus tells his disciples that they will falter yet not be alone because the Father is with them. And then he offers the promise every heart longs for: “In me you may have peace… Take courage, I have conquered the world.”
Across the Hebrew Scriptures runs a persistent cry—the longing for deliverance, for the end of sin’s rebellion, for friendship with God to be restored. This yearning for shalom, for deep and all‑pervasive well‑being, is the story of humanity reaching toward God.
In Jesus, that longing is answered. The divine and the human meet in a way that heals what was broken. The peace we seek is no longer distant or theoretical; it is embodied in Christ himself.
He does not promise a life without trouble.
He promises his presence within it.
And that presence, steady, reconciling, victorious, is where true courage is born.
Ask for the grace of courage to seek and find the Father’s presence in your life today 🙏🏻
