“Dilexit Nos” reminds us that our communities can only be united and reconciled when we start from the heart. It echoes the Second Vatican Council, stating that “every one of us needs a change of heart.” I know this is true for me. The imbalances I see in the world are often a symptom of the imbalance in my own heart.
To own my belovedness is to embrace this call to change, allowing God to transform my heart. This transformation is what makes my heart a source of reconciliation and peace in my family and community.
As Ezekiel 36:26 says, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”
What is one specific area of your own heart that needs a “change”?
Pray for a “change of heart” in that specific area today, and take one small step toward that change.
