Finding God's Goodness

Week Twenty-Four. Connected. Hopeful Vision.

Month Six – Smitten with Goodness. Fortitude with love produces goodness.

As I get to know my authentic self, I have confidence and hopeful acceptance. As humans we all long to be loved and to belong. When I feel more at home in my own skin, I appreciate my unique beauty. I start to understand that I am a single drop of paint on the canvas of God’s masterpiece.

One of my gifts is the ability to create a trusted sacred space where people feel heard. I’m constantly amazed at the relief and gratitude the person before me feels when I just listen, with empathy and compassion. This is the divine spark within each of us, igniting our heart with the flame of love. This is the most fundamental way I can love my neighbor. But first I must have the fortitude to love myself in the same way.

What is being asked of us in this moment is patient attention; a willingness to slow down, listen, and look; a willingness to let go of our expectations, to accept the possibility that our efforts may not bear any fruit—or at least not in the way we have been hoping that they will.

Douglas Christie

By creating this sacred space I facilitate deep connection, with myself, the other person and with the divine.  A connection that satisfies and cures a lonely broken heart. It is beautiful how this works, another dot in God’s masterpiece of life. I don’t know how it works but by faith I trust it’s God’s presence in me, in my bones, connecting me to others.

As you do not know how the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.

Ecclesiastes 11:5

Lord, thank you for Your hope and embedding it in my bones.
