A Feast of Generous Love

The Feast of Corpus Christi draws us back to the heart of our faith: a God who not only comes near, but who gives himself entirely—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity—for the life of the world. And this Feast is not confined to a single Sunday, it continues in us. We become the living procession, carrying Christ into every place our feet touch.

The whole purpose of the Christian life is for us to become so overwhelmingly loving, so profoundly charitable, that who we are, at our very core, is love. Our life should be so characterized by love that people could most aptly describe our life as an incarnation of love.

As one Body in Christ and nourished by one holy Bread, we step into the mystery we celebrate. What we receive, we are invited to become: a people shaped by self‑giving love, a community whose very life proclaims the generosity of God.

Today, let our prayer rise together:

R/ What we have received, may we become!

O Christ, you gave your Body for us on the cross: R/
O Christ, you give your Body to us in the Eucharist: R/
O Christ, your Body is eternal life for all who receive it in faith: R/

As we go forth from this Feast, may the Eucharist continue its quiet work in us—stretching our hearts, widening our compassion, and drawing us into deeper harmony with one another. For the gift we receive is never meant to be held tightly; it is meant to be lived, shared, and poured out.

“May the God of endurance and encouragement grant us to think in harmony with one another, in keeping with Christ Jesus, that with one accord we may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Rom 15:5–6)
