What is so important about worship? To worship is to order the whole of one’s life toward the living God, and in doing so, one becomes interiorly and exteriorly rightly ordered. To worship is to signal to oneself what one’s life is finally about. Worship is not something that God needs, but it is very much something that we need.
As I worship God and not things of the world, my heart softens. I become detached from the cultural pulls that cause me to be edgy and hard. My heart becomes grateful, and this fills my lungs with life giving air, which I share with others.
The Spirit of gentleness starts flowing from me. Giving others what is their due.
Thank you, Lord, for calling me to worship.
