Finding God's Goodness

Week Thirty-Eight. Integrity. God’s Goodness.

Valuing My Body. Temperance with love leads to chastity.

Are you drawn towards the light and the goodness of God? As we surrender to a higher state of being, God fills our soul with clear knowledge of what is necessary to live a good life. A life of integrity with ourselves and others, in body, mind, and spirit.

As I seek the good, I’m shown the beauty of virtue and the deformity of vice. God reveals to me the vanity of the world, the treasures of grace, the greatness of eternal glory, and the sweetness of the consolations of the Holy Spirit. He teaches me to apprehend His goodness, the malice of the evil one, the shortness of life, and the error of those whose hopes are centered in this world alone. I learn to not be puffed up by prosperity nor cast down by adversity. I walk in holiness in wisdom. Unmoved by the winds of false doctrine, I become just and steadfast in Christ, immoveable in charity, unswerving in faith.

Be sure that you first preach by the way you live. If you do not, people will notice that you say one thing, but live otherwise, and your words will bring only cynical laughter and a derisive shake of the head.

St. Charles Borromeo

Thank you Lord for leading me towards Your goodness.
