Out of love for Your goodness, make me clean. Draw me to purity of heart, striving to live my life as an image of Your likeness. Teach me to love like You. Draw me close to You so I can see with Your eyes and value what you value. Make me know Your will and what You desire of me.
Strengthen me with temperance, understanding how modest living protects me. It shows me how to love myself the way You love me. Because I am a composite being, both spirit and body, the tension between those two worlds is palpable and the struggle is real. Will I live for the flesh today or will I live for the Spirit? This is fighting the spiritual battle.
Walking with the Spirit strengthens my faith, feeds my hope, and allows me to love. It helps me live in the world but not of the world. Nothing is more central than being united with My Creator which I can find within the confines of and in the stillness of my soul.
If we live by the Spirit, let us walk by the Spirit.
