We are called to a different way of life. One that reorders our thoughts, impacting our actions and softening our hearts in order to understand love in its purest state. Christ’s love attracts us to a different way of life, a life of simple poverty.
Christ’s poverty compels and attracts, for it is an infallible sign of the richness of God from whom Christ lives and moves. This fruit of modesty allows light to shine through, providing a way out of the darkness. Christ’s living example empowers us to leave our world for something better, nobler. and worthier. We can choose the better way and actually live the life we have been given with eternal impact. We can live in wholeness and holiness. Sitting in silence and inviting God into my heart helps me make better choices and keeps my mind from the distractions that get in the way.
The fruit of silence is prayer / The fruit of prayer is faith / The fruit of faith is love The fruit of love is service / The fruit of service is peace.
Saint Teresa of Calcutta
Lord, let me remember that my example may compel others to find a better way, a holier way.
