As we seek to follow Christ and bring light in this world, we have choices to make. The simple day-to-day choices we make eventually add up to the sum total of our life. I’m given the invitation to follow the way, the truth, and the light. Does my thinking trust that this is enough?
With so many distractions that command my attention, even good things, is loving God, myself, and my neighbor really enough? Is it really so simple?
Why is simplicity so hard? There are many theological reasons why this is so difficult but it really gets down to who am I living life for…God or myself? And whose will, will be done?
Where do I stand?
I don’t become Christ-like through mere accumulation of doctrine, principles, and techniques, but by living a common life with Christ born from union with the Master’s will. When I accept the invitation to trust God’s goodness, I see my old mindset doesn’t serve me. My faith allows me to hear Christ’s voice setting the pace of holiness in my life. Inviting me to leave behind my own will for the new life He presents.
Thank you Lord for letting me have a trustful mindset in confidence that Your will is the best way.
