It has been said that life is for enjoyment. It is not a race to see how much you can get done.
However my preferred personality trait shows up at times as a need to perform and I struggle with sitting still, feeling like there is always something more to be done. This leaves little time for being which transforms me into my best self and enjoying life.
I’m learning that making up for the past is different from making the most of each twenty-four hours. It’s not how much I accomplish in life but how I treat others along the way that counts. I can accomplish my daily tasks while being kind to other people. And by choosing the latter as the more important action, it brings me a far greater sense of well-being than trying to move mountains.
The things that we love tell us what we are.
St. Thomas Aquinas
Lord, thank You for allowing me to get done what I need to today, bringing my attention to be kind to those who cross my path, learning to enjoy life.
