The season of Lent allows me to contemplate my habits and determine what I need to change in order to turn my whole being to be closer to God. It allows me the intentional time to reconcile, raise my heart and return wholeheartedly to my creator.
I ask myself, am I living a blessed life, welcoming God’s grace, living with my eyes toward heaven, free from strife and laziness? Am I driving laziness out of my soul and shaking off my attraction to material things? Am I devoted to better heavenly things? Am I living a life of virtue, revealed through contemplation?
As I walk with Christ who walked the world for my sake, I must not give up, I must not stand still in my journey, allowing my mind to be overpowered by my thoughts. My habits are infused, and the love of Christ propels me. I may not do great things, but I do small things with love.
The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
1 Timothy 1:14
Today I will ponder and seek Your love in my life and make this a habit infused by Your grace.
