Finding God's Goodness

Week Three: The Wisdom of Faith. My Life Is Not About Me

Faith is an attitude of trust and how I approach God. Faith is an openness to what God wants to reveal to me, to do in my life, and to invite my participation. It should be obvious that in dealing with the infinite and all-powerful personal God, I am never in control.

When I think about it, there really is very little that I can control in life. While I can control my attitude, my actions, and my reactions, I certainly can’t control other people, places, or things. I just must laugh when I find myself in “control freak mode.” That’s when I must take a deep breath and ask myself what is really going on and hand what is God’s back over to Him. One of the most fundamental statements of faith is that my life is not about me. I’m not in control. This is not my project. Rather, I’m part of God’s great design. Through faith, Jesus I trust in you.

My eyes have been enlightened.

Ephesians 1:18

Lord, thank you for realization that faith is what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen and a gift from You to me.
