A recent article on “social prescribing” caught my attention. Perhaps this is a societal andedote to loneliness promoting that we’re often at our best when we’re together.  In my mind, this is an extension of Jesus’ teachings calling us to love one another.

Silence is Golden

Most of us know the saying that “silence is golden” in the context of the proverb it is often wise to say nothing. Silence is often considered a gateway to spirituality, a practice that can foster inner peace, deeper connection, and heightened awareness of one’s inner self and the divine. It’s a practice that allows individuals to quiet the constant stream of thoughts and sounds that can distract from spiritual contemplation.

A Protective Shield

Today is the annual commemoration of blessed Dymphna, who is an example for us of chastity and fortitude during distressing times. We see through her life how God’s protection was her shield and shelter, rescuing her from the plaque of the life she in which she found herself.
