An Age of Algorithms

In this age of artificial intelligence, it’s easy to feel like just another data point. But “Dilexit Nos” makes a beautiful point: “poetry and love are necessary to save our humanity.” Algorithms can’t capture the precious memories we hold in our hearts, like the smell of my grandmother’s cooking or the sound of a child’s laughter.

My belovedness isn’t a code; it’s a living reality, filled with memories and feelings that are uniquely mine and uniquely treasured by God. As Psalm 56:8 reminds us, “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.”

What is one cherished memory that an algorithm could never capture?

Take a moment today to call a loved one and reminisce about a shared memory that is special to you both.
