We have many people we can look up to as role models to show us how to live a good life. Each of us is unique, with a specific purpose but we need teachers to help us grow along the way. People who help us broaden our perspective, help us think a little differently or challenge us to a deeper layer of awareness. Spiritually, others help us uncover another layer of who we are in God. These gifts help us get outside ourselves, cooperate with grace, and claim the peace we are promised.
God does not call us to impurity but to holiness. If we disregard this calling, we are denying God. But take comfort that we are not left alone, we are given his Holy Spirit. We can also have a teacher through a devotion to Our Lady the Blessed Virgin which is an example of the soul who avoids sin. We can imitate her virtues, particularly her profound humility, her lively faith, her blind obedience, her continual prayer, her universal mortification, her divine purity, her ardent charity, her heroic patience, her angelic sweetness and her divine wisdom. We can strive for holiness, forgetting ourselves and letting the Spirit of God act within.
What virtue can Mamma Mary help you attain?
Lord, help me live a life of humility, faith, obedience, patience, mortification, purity, charity, patience, and wisdom.

Yes, counselors are SO IMPORTANT! “Without counsel purposes are disappointed: But in the multitude of counsellors they are established.”
