The Fire Within

Today we celebrate Pentecost where the descent of the Holy Spirit is placed within our hearts. This is the energetic force that draws us to life. This living spirit guides us, and reminds us what our creator placed in our hearts, drawing us to love.

The more I mature spiritually, I notice my limited understanding of love. I’m realizing how love is different from what the world has taught me which tends to be self-serving.  With God’s guidance, we learn that love is kindness, mercy, and compassion and orients us to do His will.  

We are all seeking love and belonging, but without compassion, we will never fully reach our potential. We must have passion, and right ordered love to live with empathy leading us to connection. Fulfilling the circle of love. Much like the Holy Spirit is the fulfillment of the love of the Father and the Son. 

Come Holy Spirit and light a fire within the heart of your people.
