What touched my heart today?
In the midst of my busy days, I sometimes fail to take the time to stop and appreciate all of the beauty and gifts around me. Like all of us, I try to keep up with many things — prayer time, meetings, appointments, emails, phone calls, meetings, etc. — but I often feel that I am missing something important.
This past weekend, when I was checking emails on my phone, a video memory popped up and I stopped what I was doing to watch it. The video was from the day of my goddaughter’s baptism in 2018. I was so happy that I took the time to watch the video as it brought up so many good memories of that special day. The video evoked all of the joy that I felt on that day and also the joy that I have experienced in the subsequent years of watching my goddaughter grow and thrive. It truly touched my heart.
I appreciated the invitation that God sent me to recall this special time and to open my heart to His goodness. In this crazy world that we live in, it is easy to lose sight of what is truly important in life and what speaks to my heart. There are many moments in my day when God is reaching out to me with opportunities to slow down and appreciate all of the blessings in my life. Each day, God wants to touch my heart with beauty, truth, and love — I need to make room in my life to accept these moments so that I can continue to grow in my relationship with Him.

Thank you, God, for the gifts of faith, family, and friends. I ask you to help me to slow down and truly appreciate all of these gifts that You are so gracious to provide me each day. Touch my heart and make me more open to Your love. Authentically Yours.
