A dear friend of mine lost her husband about seven months ago and about a month after she was diagnosed with breast cancer needing surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. She just recently rang the final bell after completing her course of treatment. I’ve been amazed at God’s grace carrying her this awful time of sickness, grief, and multiple losses. She has cast herself into the arms of God and relied on the loving people in her life to carry her through this difficult time.
We frequently need other people’s help to figure out what God wants of us. It is relatively easy to sort out what is bad from what is good, but it is much more difficult to sort out what is good from what is better and what is bad from what is worse. The Holy Spirit gives us the counsel we need through external and internal signs of grace. Especially in times of hardship and suffering, we need others around us to sort out the gifts and goodness in the darkness. This is how God works to bring us love, give us strength, and find grace and goodness.
Cast yourself into the arms of God and be very sure that if He wants anything of you, He will fit you for the work and give you strength.
St. Philip Neri
Thank you Lord for Your loving angels of goodness.
Yes, and she has mirrored such incredible faith and strength in the darkest chapters of her life!
