Keeping hope alive. As God’s people were about to head into exile, God delivered hope through a promise. Someday, this will all be over—a King would come who would make all things new. Christmas celebrates the hope that God sent Jesus to fulfill that promise and rescue creation once and for all.
Knowing that God has kept His promises in the past gives us hope that God will continue keeping His promises in the future.
- What is something you hope for?
- How can you stay hopeful even when you don’t get what you want?
- When have you seen God take care of you or your family?
Dear God, thank You for reminding me during this time of year that You keep Your promises. Thank You for the promise of Jesus. Thank You for the hope that I have in Him. Help me to remember what You did for Your people—and for me—when You sent Jesus to be my Savior.
Amen
Today, I will keep the light of hope alive within me as I await my hope and joy.
