A litany for courage.
Give me strength, O Jesus.
When I am beyond tired and weary,
When I am tempted to repay sass with snark or succumb to gossip,
When I am tempted to judge those in my path uncharitably,
When I am tempted to let family and friends initiate our connection,
When I am tempted to avoid self-disciple as I ought,
When I am tempted to avoid difficult conversations,
When I am tempted to not be emotionally attentive,
When I am tempted to be negative and not joyful,
When I am tempted to avoid reaching out to those who are struggling,
When I am tempted to skip intercessory prayers for my family and friends,
When I am tempted to drown out the Holy Spirit’s “inconvenient” voice of direction,
When I am tempted to have superficial conversations because it is easier,
When I am tempted to ignore the work it takes to effectively point the way to You,
Lord, teach me to see Your face in each person I see today.
Lord, teach me to learn from others.
Lord, teach me to love everyone in my path.
Today, I thank you Lord for the Gift of Fortitude and pray this Litany inspired by the Litany of Fortitude.
