Do you see God as affectionate?
In All for Jesus, Father Faber talks about the gift of piety, stating that so much stunted growth in the spiritual life is traced back to an unaffectionate view of God. We must cultivate a filial feeling toward Him as we will never be right until our view of God the Father swallows up all other views of Him –the compassionate paternity of God.
Today, I will pray to the Holy Spirit for the Gift of Piety, whose special job is to produce this feeling in me.
