Find strength when you are attracted to sin.
Do not fear, for God has come to test you, that the fear of him may be before you, that you may not sin.
Exodus 20:20
If you are driving and the traffic suddenly stops, you want to be sure your brakes are in good order. Good brakes keep you from disaster. The fear of the Lord is a brake against sin. It holds you back.
Today when I feel the impulse to sin, I will say to myself, “How can I do this when God is watching?” My understanding the Gift of Fear of the Lord strengthens my defense against sin.
