Valuing others is justice. Seeking justice coupled with the virtue of faith grows our faithfulness.

The spiritual way is a path of the heart. It is one of mercy and healing, not only physically, but more importantly our souls. When we look at hurtful people, we need the eyes of Christ to see beyond their exterior. There are reasons a person becomes hateful, angry, or self-destructive. When we look at a person as a son or daughter loved by God, our hearts can reside in mercy and not judgment.

Cries for justice ring throughout our nation and world every day, and even more loudly protests against injustice. Justice is not an idle topic for consideration, it is the issue of our day.

Week 41. Attitude of Faith. God’s Reach.

Valuing others is justice. Seeking justice coupled with the virtue of faith grows our faithfulness.

To live our faith, we must do two things: love God with all our heart and love our neighbor as ourselves. We live with the eyes and heart of Christ, concerned with the poor and ensuring the dignity of work and rights of workers. This is how we extend God’s reach into the world.

Valuing others is justice. Seeking justice coupled with the virtue of faith grows our faithfulness.

Our faith teaches us that with rights come responsibility. We have a right to life and to live a decent life. As we do, we have a responsibility to ensure others have the same opportunity.

We are called to live as people of love and hope. Yes, we can and should pray, but our holy scriptures and tradition of Catholic Social Justice Teachings also call us to act.

Our faith educates us in how to deal with the pressing issues of the day. There is rich history of social teaching in the Catholic Church that goes back centuries and provides a compelling challenge for living responsibly and building a just society. This modern Catholic Social Teaching, rooted in Scripture and articulated through a tradition of written documents, has evolved over time in response to the challenges of the day.

Week 40. Giving Due. Looking for God’s Goodness and Weekly Reflection Summary.

Valuing others is justice. Seeking justice coupled with the virtue of faith grows our faithfulness.

As a virtue, justice is the constant and permanent determination to give everyone his or her rightful due. It is a habitual inclination of the will and therefore always recognizes each one’s rights, under any and all circumstances.

Week 40. Giving Due. True Love.

Valuing others is justice. Seeking justice coupled with the virtue of faith grows our faithfulness.

All physical shadows are created by a mixture of darkness and light, and this is the only spectrum of human vision. We cannot see inside of total light or total darkness. Think about that. As the shadows of things gradually show themselves as understandable and real, we lose interest in idealizing or idolizing persons or events, especially ourselves.
