A Journey of Presence, Tenderness, and Transformation
The “three days” at the heart of Holy Week
The Paschal Triduum is the sacred center of our Christian year—a single, continuous liturgy unfolding over three days. It carries us from the tenderness of the table, through the suffering of the cross, into the silence of the tomb, and finally into the light of resurrection. These days invite us not just to remember but to enter the mystery of God’s love poured out for the world.
Holy Thursday, Maundy Thursday, commemorates the Last Supper, the washing of feet, and the institution of the Eucharist. Jesus kneels to wash the feet of his friends—an act of humility so intimate it unsettles them. Then he breaks bread and shares a final meal, offering himself in love.
This day invites us to remember that God’s power is revealed not in dominance but in tenderness. We are called to receive love and to offer it in return, especially in the places where it feels most vulnerable.
Scripture: “Having loved his own… he loved them to the end.” (John 13:1)
Question: Where is God inviting you to receive or offer tender, humble love?
