There is power in being named—and even more power in the One whose Name claims us. Saint Paul reminds us, “You have had yourselves washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Cor 6:11).
To bear the name of Jesus is to receive a new identity. We are not defined by our past or our failures, but by the One who calls us His own. His Name washes us, sets us apart, and makes us new.
Paul goes further in Philippians, proclaiming that God has given Jesus “the name above every name,” before which every knee will bend—in heaven, on earth, and under the earth (Phil 2:9–10). This is not just poetry. It is the truth that anchors creation: the Name of Jesus heals, frees, restores, and reigns.
To celebrate His Name is to remember who we are claimed, forgiven, and sent.
To bear His Name is to let His life shape ours, our words, our choices, our love.
May the Holy Name of Jesus be the place where we stand, the identity we live from, and the hope we carry into the world.
