Being Loved

When God Doesn’t Remove the Problem

We often pray for God to take away our problems—remove the obstacles, fix the marriage, change the circumstances. But what if the problem isn’t the problem? What if God isn’t changing your situation because He’s trying to change you?

Maybe the obstacle you’re facing is actually a mercy. Maybe the dream you’re chasing would harm your soul, and God loves you too much to let you have it. Maybe your plans keep falling apart because they were never His plans to begin with. Maybe the trial lingers because the lesson hasn’t yet landed. And maybe the tension in your relationships isn’t just something to escape—it’s exposing a deeper wound that God wants to heal.

I’ve prayed many times, “Ok Lord, I give up.” And in that surrender, I can almost hear Him whisper, “Finally. Now I can begin.” We fight so hard to fix everything around us, blaming our boss, our spouse, the weather. But rarely do we ask, “Lord, change me.”

So here’s the invitation: What if the biggest thing standing between you and peace… is you? What if the breakthrough begins not when your circumstances shift, but when your heart does? How far does God have to push before you say, “Ok Lord, I give up. Let’s try things your way. I’m ready to get the help I need. Change me.”
