Being Loved

Ambassador for Christ

Are you living as an ambassador of Christ? As I work my way through the Catechism of the Catholic Church, I’m growing in such deeper understanding and knowledge of our Christian faith. We recently read about what it means to be a Christian Ambassador. We are to:

  • Represent Christ: Believers are called to live in a way that reflects Christ’s character and teachings, embodying his love and grace.
  • Proclaim the Gospel: Ambassadors are entrusted with the message of reconciliation, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with others.
  • Reconcile Others to God: The ultimate goal of an ambassador for Christ is to help others be reconciled to God.

In the same way that Christ revealed the Father, we are called to reveal Christ. We are called to incarnate Jesus. This is when we live and speak incarnationally and mirror the work Christ did on earth:

He came to make the Father known. While he was here, Jesus said that the works he did and the words he spoke were not his own but came from his Father (John 14:5–14).

May we ask the Lord daily for help with our words, and root our heart in an agenda higher and holier than our own purposes and desires. Amen
