Every Moment Holy

Today.

God’s timing is perfect.

Today is where God meets us. Can you see? Can you hear? Can you taste? Do you feel God’s presence? Presence is closer than your breath.

As we search for God, we find our true self. And it’s in the ordinary moments of our lives we can find our true self.

It is in the ordinary sundry of life where we find our true selves.

We have no hold on the past-we can’t change the smallest bit of it. People sometimes try to relive past events considered failures. (I should have done this…should have said that…) But those imaginary scenarios are merely dreams. It is not possible to backtrack. The only free act we can make in regard to the past is to accept it just as it was and leave it trustingly in God’s hands.

Hearts anxious about tomorrow can’t be open to the grace of the present moment…It’s better to accept things as they come one after another, trusting that we will have the grace to deal with them at the right time, than to invent a host of scenarios about what may happen-scenarios that normally turn out to be wrong. The best way to prepare for the future is to put our hearts into the present.

So why dwell on the past or worry about the future when all we need is this moment. This is the space that is exactly as it should be where we can wake up to the pace of life and live fully in the present moment, today, where every moment is holy.
