I’ve always loved Psalm 85 which gives us a vision of a land where the glory of our Lord dwells:
Kindness and truth shall meet;
justice and peace shall kiss.
Truth shall spring out of the earth,
and justice shall look down from heaven.
What we give our energy to, we will see in our lives. What we tend to will grow. Let’s give our focus to fellowship with Christ, and let’s give our attention to the values of his kingdom.
Seeds of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and goodness are valuable crops in our lives. Faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control serve us well. Let us take our intentions and cultivate them with our actions in the soil of God’s grace.
These are the seeds of truth planted within each of us we only need to recover them and with grace, nurture them so we can shine the light of Christ. This is the spiritual battle to resist and turn away from the values given to us by the world in which we live.
May your healing work, O Lord,
free us, from doing evil
and lead us to what is right. Amen
