After a recent spiritual direction session, I had a major shift in mindset. This is the “new mind” experience Paul talks about in Romans, it’s an expanded perspective from my normally conditioned point of view.
I’m seeing how my stubbornness limits my openness, especially as it relates to my idea of independence. It keeps me thinking my body, mind and spirit are disconnected rather than accepting at a heart level the reality of their interdependence. This embodied experience of my wholeness, leads me to know and trust my belovedness.
When I live my life as prayer,
I realize my life is prayer.
This awakening opens my heart in a deeper way to be available to God and to the unity of my body, mind and spirit. This sets me on the right path, the original path of unity designed by God and redeemed by Christ’s love.
