Is there anything you are struggling with? Can you use some freedom in your life? Pope Francis opened the Holy Door of Saint Peter’s Basilica in Rome on Christmas Eve to inaugurate the 2025 Jubilee of Hope. We celebrate a jubilee holy year in the biblical tradition setting aside a year acceptable to the Lord which is marked by cancellation of debt, release from labor and forgiveness of enemies.
The Holy Father invites us to pray, to prepare ourselves throughout this year, so that this Jubilee may “strengthen us in our faith, helping us to recognize the Risen Christ in the midst of our lives, transforming us into pilgrims of Christian hope.”
The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He sent me to proclaim release to the captive and recovery of sight to the blind to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord‘s favor. (Luke 4:14–22)
Our lives are to be dedicated to God and in honor of God co-creating goodness in the world. Where do you need freedom? How about your thought life, family life, from substance abuse? Jesus is reaching out to you in love to set you free in return he wants you to tell others about this amazing jubilee of freedom.
