What is your mission, your calling? Our highest purpose is to love and as we love God, our true nature is uncovered to love each other as ourselves. This is building God’s Kingdom and how we spread the good news.
Jesus’ mission was to proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God. That was the purpose for which he had been sent. And he continues to pursue His mission among us in our efforts to do the work of evangelization.
Do we need evangelization? The statistics couldn’t be clearer with the fastest-growing category in polls of religious affiliation being “none.” Could there be a correlation of this statistic with the high rates of loneliness and anxiety in our society? We are soul-starved.
The Church is the body of Christ, it nourishes and sustains us for our journey. It sends us into the world to share God’s love with others. Bringing people to Christ is the central work of the Church around which everything else that we do revolves.
Lord, help me draw others to You and share Your good news of hope.
