As Christians, we are offered relief from our burdens. Are you oppressed by the world, by sin, worries, suffering, injustice, the death of a relative or friend, or the fear of death?
Relief comes when we submit to a new way of ordering things. The image of Christ the Good Shepherd comes to mind where we are under the Shepherd’s protection and command. This new life is where we serve God’s purposes and go where he wants us to go.
Is Christ commanding your life in every detail? Is he the Lord of your family life, recreational life, and professional life? Are you totally given over to him?
When we surrender to the path of love that is laid out for us, our lives become infinitely lighter, easier, and more joyful, for we are moving with the divine purpose.
Do you feel the lightness of purpose today?
