One of the most beautiful things about being Catholic is the tradition and mystery of the Mass. This is where I encounter God’s love for me, nourishing me for the journey.
What a beautiful gift God has given to us. An invitation to come to the table and feast on what is beautiful, true, and good. We taste and see the goodness of the Lord.
The invitation to lift up our hearts at the most important part of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is an invitation by Jesus through the voice of the priest to give our hearts to the Father, as He gave His life for us. We prepare to make our hearts and lives a total self-gift to the Father as Jesus made Himself a total gift to the Father for us on the Cross.
What sacrifice will you make for your Creator today?
Lord, thank you for your everlasting love, compassion, patience, and mercy sustaining a poor sinner for the journey.
