The pure of heart perceives the mystery of sex. We perceive its depth, its seriousness, and its intimacy.
We understand implicitly the sublime purpose and fundamental significance of sex, and perceive how every abuse of sex represents, the deadly poison, defiling the soul and separating it from God. We see the damage sexual pleasure can generate when treated as its own end.
A pure heart always lives in an attitude of reverence for God and His creation, and therefore reveres sex, its profundity, and its sublime and divinely ordained meaning. A pure heart understands that sex belongs in a special manner to God, it is mystery and may only be used as He intended. Respecting our body along with others creates reverence, participating in the mystery.
