One virtue that helps us grow in purity, trust God more and grow in apostolic zeal is simplicity of heart. When I grow in simplicity of heart, I will never demand of God that He explain my vocation or my sufferings. I’m able to trust God with all my heart living a temperate life.
Thanks to simplicity of heart, I can see God’s holy will in everything, even pain becomes wells and rivers of peace and joy. Thanks to the simplicity of heart, I understand people and their misery and give them a helping hand. Thanks to simplicity of heart, I rarely harbor hate, an evil wish, a grudge, or an evil thought in my heart. Everything brings me to God.
So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart.
Acts 2:46
Simplicity of heart is the joy in knowing the goodness of God, the love He has for me and who I am in Christ and knowing the precious gift of salvation He gave to me.
Lord, help me grow in simplicity of heart and to recognize everything in my life as coming from Your loving hand.
