Finding God's Goodness

Week Eighteen. Fortitude to Love. Mercy and Kindness

Month Five. Fortitude to love myself, expands my hope and kindness

Let us ask for the grace to feel that we need mercy. This is the only way that the salvation of God acts within us. Pope Francis.

God‘s mercy is free, it’s a gift. How often do I take this gift? As I see my areas of deficiency, the ways I am selfish and self-absorbed, I grab onto God‘s love and forgiveness. My awareness does not bring despair but help. As I learn to love myself through the eyes of divine love, the hardness of heart I’ve had for many years melts into kindness and compassion. As I invite God to take the reins of my life, I don’t have to face each day thinking it’s all up to me. Living in God’s mercy allows me to live in peace and accept myself.

God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from himself because it is not there. There is no such thing.

CS Lewis

Lord, I ask You for the grace to feel that I need mercy.
