Month Four – Loving Myself. Fortitude with Faith produces patience
On this Palm Sunday we anticipate God’s passion which helps us understand that the world’s glory is fleeting. Encountering God’s goodness reorders our world and by faith creates us anew.
Passion is suffering and refers to the sufferings the Lord paid for our redemption. Our crucified Lord on the cross is a vivid image of love. Meditating on this strengthens us against temptation, moves us to confession, and keeps us on the path to salvation. It is the daily loving of our whole self that we are reborn. As I realize the sacredness of my life, and that I only have a short amount of time to show God how much I love Him, I encounter God’s goodness. I am reborn and become a new person, as goodness. My faith strengthens with each encounter.
My trust is in you, Lord; I say, “You are my God.” My destiny is in your hands.
