As I turn toward God, I’m making a statement to the divine, to the world, and to my soul. I’m saying that I’m called to a higher purpose and meaning. I am called to love.
We are all called to love by our Creator. Designed like a homing pigeon, we are always searching for our home which is our eternal resting place. But I wander all over the place seeking other gods to take Your place until the day comes when I realize only You can fill the hole You put in my heart. It is You that I seek. It is You that I love. As I turn to You with this awareness, our relationship deepens. I’ve encountered You and now seek to find you throughout my life and day. I strive to know You as You know me.
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
John 15:12-13
Lord, thank you for calling me to know You and calling me to love.
