Being Loved

The Hope of Presence

Do dark thoughts consume your mind where your own mind has become your own demon?

St Ignatius provides us perspective on this. He knew what it was to have a heart called by Heaven, a body grounded on Earth, and a mind still seemingly trapped in hell. He struggled with depression thinking of taking his own life. But with Gods grace he was able to hang on to the hope of Gods presence and has contributed greatly to Catholic Spirituality.

I’m confident someone needs to hear these words today.

I recently came across this profound prayer and have been meditating on it and praying for a loved one. May it bless you today.

O Christ Jesus,
when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of Your presence,
Your love, and Your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
in Your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You,
we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose, Your will through all things
