Living by Design

Reflections for contemplative living

The beauty of living in God’s love is that we can find it everywhere. You don’t have to spend all your waking hours in church or on your knees in prayer to live a faithful life in Christ.

The Christian life is designed for living, and if I live by that design, I live a good life. Because I want to learn to live a life of love and the more this purpose burns in my heart, the more I realize I can’t do that without being tethered to Christ.

Sure I can be kind, generous and loving relying on my own but this isn’t sustainable if I don’t surrender to God … all the time. My motives might meander, looking out for my interest versus willing the good of the other.  Or my stinking thinking gets in the way.

Living my life as God designed it to be as a verb – it is ongoing and fluid, something I practice every day.
