Receiving Peace

Reflections for contemplative living

The more I wake up to living life, I feel a steady barometer for my well-being is my state of peace. Peace is a gift we are given by God but it is a hard one to fully receive.

To be able to open up this gift of peace and have it cover our hearts, we must let go of the counter emotions such as anger and resentment. And this is a constant action, not a one-time event. I recently heard it called “endless forgiveness” which is hard without the divine leading the way. But the journey of a thousand miles begins with a first step.  Is there someone in your heart that needs your forgiveness today?

Thank you, Lord, for Your gift of peace and the courage to have it live in my heart.

  1. Oh dear… reminds me of… “Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18‬:‭21‬-‭22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ So hard to do, yet we are commanded to do so…only through the power of God, at least for me! and… “And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” Oh, good grief! I’ve got a lot of work to do! ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭12‬ ‭KJV‬‬ Miss you Sweet Cousin! 🥰
